Why hire a professional newborn photographer?

When you hire me as your professional photographer you are guaranteeing a level of expertise and talent that will ensure your priceless newborn moments are captured for eternity, the first time.

Do you have experience photographing newborns safely?

My past portfolio of beautiful images have not only been achieved through the use of superior quality camera equipment but also through the hundreds of hours of experience I have in photographing newborns. Remember, I will be handling your baby just a few days after their birth and therefore I will insist that safety and comfort is paramount during the shoot. Please note, for this reason I do not offer the head on hands ’froggy’ pose during my newborn sessions, but instead chose to pose babies in natural positions, such as supine, side laying and chin resting on hands. I have undergone extensive training with world class newborn photographers such as Kelly Brown and Jade Gao, who teach posing safely as a top priority for the newborns in their care. As a member of The Guild of Photographers I am proud to adhere to professional codes of conduct, which include strict safety guidelines when handling, soothing and posing your baby.

Do I need to bring any props or accessories to my newborn photography session?

It is true that I have a prop 'addiction' (!) and indeed, inside the studio you will find an array of hand made props, outfits and accessories to enhance your baby's natural beauty, sourced from around the best newborn crafts people in the world. Please feel free to bring in a loved item, such as a shawl or knitted hat if you would like it to be included, too.

When should I book?

Many of my clients choose to book their newborn photography just after their 20 week scan. This allows me to add your EDD (estimated due date) to the studio calendar well in advance and keep your due date free with a little 'wiggle time' around it, should your baby decide to come a little earlier or later than expected.

How old does my baby need to be for newborn photography?

Ideally, babies aged 5-15 days are perfect for newborn photography, as they curl into those adorable womb-like poses safely whilst sleeping. I do photograph older newborns up to 4 weeks too.
